Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I have always had a profound love and respect for animals, nature and the great outdoors. As a kid, my family would often go camping, hiking or fishing – anything that got us out of the house and active together as a family. When I got a bit older, my dad would take me Steelhead fishing – true father-daughter bonding time. Some years and a Bachelor’s in History later, I found myself working at a fly-out fishing lodge in Alaska. This was the summer of 2005 and it was here that I met Paul Jacob and began to learn the art of fly-fishing. After that summer, I was not only hooked on fly-fishing, but on Paul as well. Since then, I have moved to New York and have been a part of the Reel Action Team for 3 ½ years. While I don’t guide per se, I often accompany Paul on his trips, lending a hand wherever I can and taking photographs and video. I am also a sort of behind-the-scenes ‘Office’ Manager, making sure that things are running smoothly in the ‘office’ so they will in turn run smoothly on the water. This fall I will be attending school in Buffalo for a Vet Tech program, but will continue to play an active roll in Team Reel Action.
