Single hand lessons will be based on an hourly rate and designed to meet your needs from beginner to advanced fly casting. Rick's programs are designed to cover all the basics - Roll-Cast, Over Head Cast, Belgian Cast, Dealing with Wind, Accuracy, Double Haul, Distance, and more.
Coaching is a part of every sport, and so it is with fly casting. Maybe just adding a few extra yards of distance to make your next Tarpon trip a success, or perhaps presenting a dry fly more effectively on a mountain stream. Rick will help you improve your fishing ability and he can design a course to focus and improve on your specific needs.
Spey casting lessons will be based on 4 hours and are designed to meet your needs, from beginner to advanced. The 4-hour programs are designed to tweak and hone the experienced angler as well as help you get started in spey casting / fishing. This is a great program to take prior to spending money on equipment. We will supply rods / reels, etc. and you'll finish the program with a complete understanding on everything spey! Rick works with local shops and will put together a list of equipment and suggestions that will make your day on the river more pleasurable.
Guided Trips
Our Guiding Program in Southern Ontario can be summed up as follows: The diversity of the cold water and warm game fish species mixed with the overall number of fly fishing opportunities this area has to offer is truly world class. Rainbow Trout, Steelhead, Brown Trout, and Bass; we will target these different species in season. We start in early spring and guide until freeze-up in the fall. With so many fish, so many locations, and so little time, let us share our fishing knowledge and resources to help you experience the ultimate fly fishing trip as we present some of the best fishing Southern Ontario has to offer.
Trip Packages and Pricing:
We offer a full-day (8 Hour min.) guided fly fishing drift boat and raft trip with lunch provided. We can provide all the equipment for the first time fly fisher.
Please Note: If river conditions change we may reschedule your trip; our policy is to provide the best possible day on the river for our clients.
Hourly $55.00, 2 People Max (single hand casting instruction)
4 Hour $220.00, 2 People Max (two hand /spey casting instruction)
Full Day $450, 2 people Max (full day's drift school or guiding instruction)
Our Guides and Instructors are FFF Certified, our rates are based on an average of all Southern Ontario guides and instructors, we reserve the right to change our rates and policies at any time without notice.

Trip Preparation:
Ontario fishing License is a must
Sunglasses (eye protection must be worn at all times)
Hat's, Gloves (Suggestion; Simms has a great line up of gloves and hat's for all conditions)
Rain Gear & Layered Clothing, is a good option as the weather can change throughout the day
Chest Waders, for cold weather trips
Sunscreen, (Simms Sun Gaiter is also an option)
Please no wading boots with (sharp) studded soles on our raft trips, we'll have wading staff's available to use
We use G.Loomis rods/reels and Airflo fly lines, although we can supply all the equipment, you can bring your favourite rod/reel. Please note there is limited space on the raft

Camera, besides fish pictures, there is an abundance of wild life on our rivers, well worth having a camera at the ready
